Free online recruitment service launched for UK Colleges

TSL Education, publisher of the TES, FE Focus and Times Higher Education Magazine announces today the launch of HireWire a brand new, FREE online recruitment service for all Further Education institutions. The estimated savings to the sector of the new service are conservatively put at £5 million.

The launch of HireWire for colleges comes on the back of the outstanding success of HireWire for schools following its launch in 2009, which has seen the unprecedented take-up of 3,700 secondary and Academy schools (95%) in England and Wales. HireWire has also been adopted by 70% of Local Authorities in England. Some 90,000 candidates have already registered with HireWire to find teaching positions.

Over the past 12 months the HireWire team at TSL has been working closely with Further Education colleges and universities to design and build a product which exclusively addresses the needs of the sector and their recruitment processes. Some 15 colleges and sector representatives have been involved in helping to design this latest version of HireWire and the result is the launch of a sophisticated feature rich web-based Applicant Tracking System, which will streamline the entire recruitment process. It is completely free, including the training and ongoing support and can be implemented in a matter of hours, saving further education institutions time, money and valuable resources.

The entire process is seamless and easy, from advertising a vacancy in any media to evaluating the responses and making a compliant appointment. In addition, it provides management reports, including equal opportunity and real time ROI for advertising campaign management.

Bill Donoghue, Managing Director at TSL Education, said: "Finding the best people for our schools and institutions is at the heart of everything we do at TSL. The huge success of HireWire for schools and Local Authorities is a significant endorsement of our multi-million pound investment already made in HireWire. We have worked closely with colleges and universities to design a bespoke fit for purpose solution and I am confident HireWire will bring huge savings to colleges at a time when the sector is under pressure from many different channels to save money and reduce costs, whilst at the same time helping them to find the very best people."

Cristine Spires, Personnel Manager at Barton Peveril College in Hampshire said: "I really am a big fan of HireWire. Barton Peveril College has been able to recruit first time by advertising in FE Focus and with HireWire we can now track the activity of job seekers saving us time, money and resources whilst providing a better service to candidates."
