St Matthew Academy in London has been using HireWire since February. So far they have advertised and successfully appointed over eight teaching positions, from an assistant principal to classroom teachers, as well as support staff positions. The school also has a number of jobs currently live on the site.
Prior to using the service, staff recruitment was the usual lengthy process that most schools experience. Instead of concentrating on their normal day-to-day duties, administration staff were devoting huge amounts of time to sending out application packs, answering calls, directing enquiries and generally tracking applicants. Thankfully, as a result of using HireWire, the entire recruitment process has been automated and streamlined, doing away with a mountain of paperwork and helping the school to reach its sustainability targets.
'Queries and forms can now be electronically directed to the right person,' says Diane Potter, personnel director. 'And not having to print off every submission is great, saving a great deal of time, effort and paper. It also means that teachers and applicants alike have access to any of the documents in one consistent format 24-hours-a-day.'’
Principal Monica Cross is particularly taken with the applicant tracking features of HireWire. 'It's now very easy to automatically email unsuccessful applicants, something that was so time-consuming previously.
