Applications are invited for the post of Scholarly Publications Manager to join the Research Support team in the Collections & Research Support Division of Library Services. Library Services is a key department within the Directorate of Students & Education at King’s College London, supporting the institution’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activity. This permanent role manages the provision of Scholarly Publications services to the King’s College London community. The post-holder will be joining the researcher-focused Research Support team at an exciting time of innovation and growth for both Library Services and the university, with King’s recognised as a world-leading research institution ranked 7th in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.
Under the direction of the Head of Research Support, the post holder will be responsible for managing and developing scholarly publication services - including the administration of article processing charges; the provision of data input and quality control of metadata in Pure (the university’s current research information system); and the provision of support for bibliometric analysis and copyright. The post holder will form strong links with the research community across departments and professional services to assist researchers with making informed descisions about their publications and help the university meet its responsibilities as a research-intensive institution to ensure it complies with funders’ requirements and best practice.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of delivering advocacy or training, and good knowledge of scholarly communications issues - particularly around repositories and the open access landscape. They will have a proactive flexible approach, work effectively as part of a team, and be capable of working under pressure.
