Lecturer in Linguistics
£32,600 to £47,801 per annum
£2,323 per annum Ldn Allowance
The Department of Education and Professional Studies (DEPS) in the School of Social Science and Public Policy wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Linguistics.
This is a permanent post based at the Waterloo Campus. The successful applicant will conduct high quality research in the area(s) of descriptive and applied linguistics and contribute to teaching on the BA in English Language & Linguistics and the MA in Applied Linguistics & ELT. They will be a member of the Centre for Language Discourse & Communication (LDC).
DEPS is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in teaching and research and in the recent Research Excellence Framework was ranked second in the country for research excellence (see http://www.kcl.ac.uk/sspp/departments/education/index.aspx).
LDC is a major centre for descriptive linguistics, applied linguistics and language in education (see www.kcl.ac.uk/ldc ).
Applicants should have a strong publications track record and wide-ranging expertise in the teaching of language structure and use. An ability and willingness to make a contribution to applied linguistics teaching beyond specialist area and good organisational skills are also required.
At grade 6 or 7 on the salary scale, currently £32,600 - £38,896 (grade 6) and £40,082 to £47,801 (grade 7) per annum plus £2,323 annum London Allowance, depending on experience.
This post will be based on a full time, indefinite post.
