We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and independent person for the post of Biobank and Research Coordinator at King’s College London. This position is based in the MRC Social Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre. It is funded by the Biomedical Research Centre for Mental. Our biobank is aiming to recruit 30,000 patients over the 5 years and our group is responsible for the delivery of a large range of related research projects, including genetics and biomarker projects. The group includes active research, clinical and laboratory teams.

You will join a highly experienced team of clinical and basic research scientists and provide core, operational leadership and support to the programme. You will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, have experience of clinical trial and project management, enjoy working with multi-disciplinary teams, the ability to prioritise competing workloads and have good knowledge on matters relating to research governance. Our biobank is highly innovative and challenging; this post will provide an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to progress their career to a higher level.

Key responsibilities.
• To be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of our biobank (the BioResource for Mental Health)
• To work with the project lead and local research teams at participating centres to ensure all relevant programme milestones are achieved to time and target.
• To play an active role in the biobank management team and contribute to its development and effective function
• To coordinate the delivery of related research projects in mental health and neurological disorder.

The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £32,958 to £33,943 per annum, plus £2,623 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 2 years.

This is a 100% full time equivalent.

The selection process will include competency based questions, and a panel interview. Interviews are scheduled to be held shortly after the closing date.
