This post will be a Fixed Term contract for 1 year

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual who has a strong grasp of research methods and experience of applied and/or health services research. The appointee will be at the heart of an exciting study developing a patient-centred, nationally applicable casemix classification for adult palliative care provision in order to inform funding models and ensure that individual patient needs are met with high-quality, cost-effective care.

The post provides opportunities to undertake important innovative research and work with academic and clinical leaders in the fields of specialist palliative care, outcome measurement and data collection/analysis. The project will enable an experienced researcher to engage in national work alongside a diverse team of experts in order to provide guidance for future policy and funding models.

Candidates should have demonstrable experience in health services research, an understanding of qualitative research methods, in particular health services and/or palliative care research, and a working knowledge of data analysis. Excellent research-related computing skills are also essential in this role, as is the ability to clearly and articulately convey findings, present work and communicate with different groups of people at a range of levels.

The selection process will include and assessment and interview panel.
