This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a vibrant, multi-disciplinary team on two clinical trials investigating the effects of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) on persistent physical symptoms. PRINCE Primary is a pilot cluster randomised trial investigating an integrated approach with patients in primary care, with GPs being trained in using CBT-informed consultations to help patients manage their symptoms. PRINCE Secondary is a randomised controlled trial investigating the clinical and cost effectiveness of standard medical care plus CBT compared to standard medical care alone.
These trials are in their final stages and the post holder will be mainly involved in taking follow-up measures, conducting interviews, writing papers and the development of a web-based intervention. The successful candidate will have a degree in any life science and a masters level degree in health psychology or a related field. They will also have previous research experience and knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
The selection process will include competency based questions, a presentation and a panel interview.
