Provide specialist expertise and direction to lead on a Carbon Management Plan that reduces the College’s carbon emissions significantly by 2020 and supports the implementation of King’s Sustainability Strategy that positions King’s in the top 10 performing UK universities in terms of environmental and energy performance within 3 years and within the top 30 world universities within 5 years.
Manage the utilities budget and utilities contracts and ensure that the College’s energy procurement process supports the carbon management plan and achieves long term energy and cost security for the College.
Identify and manage carbon and water reduction projects, provide a monitoring and targeting service and raise the profile of carbon, energy and water reduction within the organisation, identify and share good practice and develop an energy conscious organisational culture.
Advise the College on legislation, regulations and other external standards and requirements relating to energy, water and carbon and ensure compliance with current and forthcoming requirements.
Lead energy and assist with the commercial aspects of the Energy Performance Contract with our PFI contractor.
Support the implementation of the Sustainability Strategy, from an energy perspective, including the maintenance of an ISO 14001 accredited environmental management system.
Manage and control the cross charging process for utilities received from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust (GSTT) including metering information, invoices and liaison with GSTT representatives.
