Teacher of Spanish

The Mirfield Free Grammar and Sixth Form is an 11-18 comprehensive school which was rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2008 and again in 2012. We are a highly successful and over-subscribed school with a strong culture of aspiration. Our mission statement “To enable staff and students achieve their best” is underpinned by an effective behaviour for learning strategy which allows teachers to focus on ensuring outstanding teaching and learning can take place in the classroom. Student achievement at GCSE has increased year on year to 82% 5A*-Cs, including English and Mathematics, in 2013.
We are a high performing specialist school in Technology and Leadership and have benefitted from substantial investment in Science, ICT and Technology as well as a dedicated Sixth Form Centre and Leadership Suite. Our extensive sports facilities have been enhanced by adding a floodlit Tiger Turf Olympic Hockey Synthetic Turf Pitch, new gym (available for staff use), and a dance studio.
As a National Support School, we are also excited about current developments to establish leadership at all levels within the school by providing development programmes and opportunities for those who wish to take them.
We are seeking a classroom practitioner who either is, or aspires to be, outstanding, to join an already successful and innovative faculty. If you can confidently teach Key Stages 3 to 4, and perhaps, in the future, A level, motivate all students to achieve or exceed their target grades; if you are passionate about Spanish and are driven to ensure students receive the best possible experience, The MFG is the place for you. In addition, there will be lots of opportunities to develop within the faculty, in a fast paced, creative environment which is committed to ensuring the highest possible learning experience for its students and staff. The role is mainly teaching Spanish but the ability to teach French would be advantageous.
